She is unpredictable, frequent moodswings. Sometimes she’s nice, and sometimes she’s not. Her name is Yan Ying. 90% of the world can’t pronounce it properly, simple as it seems. But no one really cares so they just call her YY. She is not fond of people with the same name as her. She turns 14 on 6th September and she loves her birthday cause it is a sex symbol. She was from Yew Tee Primary and is still proud of her school. She will never forget the class of 6D’07, or the batch of P6’07. She is currently an idiot in Nanyang Girls High and it is a love-hate relationship. She belongs to 202’09 which she, to be honest, doesn’t feel much for. She is a Theatre Club girl and is more than proud to be one. She especially loves Emo Batch♥, and looks forward to devoting her next 3 years to TCN with much optimism. She does ballet with more than just passion but she can’t do a center split. She is trying her best and is currently aiming for a far-fetched distinction for Grade6. She loves hiphop just as much though she’s pretty new at it. Her favourite sport is swimming and she occasionally plays basketball as a form of stress-relief. She likes to be tan and loves her swimming tan line. The piano, is yet another love-hate relationship. Like most teenagers, her hobbies include MSNing, blogging, and youtubing and facebooking. She loves shopping and doing random stuff like gaying people, jumping over railings, walking in the rain, and having completely irregular sleeping hours. Unlike most teenagers, she thinks that rap music is trash. She also thinks that she is getting old cause she hates the songs the average listens to these days. She can’t explain her love for oldies, country music, ballads, and sentimentals. Nostalgic songs are the best. Her favourite bands are Michael Learns to Rock, The Beatles and Westlife. She loves too many singers to name them all. “Forevers” are bullshit as of now. The night speaks to her the way no one else can. Her favourite thing to do is to curl up with a book on a rainy afternoon in her room, where she feels safest in. Her favourite flower is a black rose, but on the contrary, she likes rainbows and hugs too. She is always torn between two. But she is determined when she sets her mind on something, so she wants the world to shut up and believe in her. Just watch.Tag

that my love for you has died away like grass upon the lawn.
Family BBQ tomorrow till Sunday. Has been years since I've had one (stayover ones I mean), probably about a decade. Yay can ride bike!Had piano exam today and the funniest shit happened. We went to the freaking wrong place lol it was supposed to be at Millenia Walk but we ended up at Paragon cause that's where most of my piano exams had been. And I only had it once at Millenia Walk before so naturally I didn't expect that. Was supposed to report 15 minutes before the scheduled exam time at 12.10pm so yeah, I reached Paragon at exactly 12.10! Then I didn't know which level it was so I took out the examination slip and it totally stunned me. So of course it was the mad rush afterwards and we reached the other place about ten minutes late, but fortunately everything was slightly pushed back so I still went in in order, I think. Completely flustered and screwed up scales and arpeggios. Scales are like giveaways and I screwed that up. I think the rest were pass-able but everything was like so rushed this examiner is crazily fast she's like jumping from one thing to another. The previous ones all took their time to slowly write stuff and all that but apparently this one didn't. And she still looks as though the lives in the 80s with the bushy hair and geek specs and all. Oh and I was unconsciously noticing her boobs during the Aural section cause they are strangely out of shape, what a ridiculous thing to be doing during a piano exam. Lunch at some air-conditioned kopitiam (what irony) place and ar the hygiene there seriously sucks. Firstly the half-boiled eggs were like gross it had black stuff in it, no not the sauce, and a slice of toast bread had a strand hair on it. I think my mum got stomachache from eating stuff there. After lunch my cousin went off and my mum and I went to Tanglin to get a new ballet shoe, despite my attempts to talk her out of it. My shoe has a small hole which is slightly smaller than a five cent coin so I don't really see the point in getting a new one. I've been wearing this one now for about four years already because my feet hasn't been growing much, so I'm completely and entirely used to it and I don't want to change. So my mum says I can keep it somewhere first. Yeah. I earnestly want a distinction for Grade 6 next year, so much more than I do for my piano exam. I think it's a preference kind of thing, and where my passion lies. And to put it very blatantly, I seriously hope that people who come for ballet because they are forced by their parents to or just treat it as some once-a-week thing get the hell out. Who knows how much further we can advance without these obstructions heh. And after getting the shoe we went to do some adjustments to my backbrace, whatever I don't see the point, had Mcdonalds and went to Queensway to get FBTs and white running shoes. Completed Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None" at home, my first AC book. It was quite a fast read, finished it within two to three settings cause it wasn't the 600-pages novel kind, but instead just around 275. Sent shivers down my spine cause it is very suspenseful (and incredibly smart too). I kept suspecting wrong people, and most of the time as soon as I suspect this particular person he dies almost immediately. I wouldn't quite say it was one of the best books I've read but it was certainly intriguing, and the plot and idea were superb. Very clever ending, kept you guessing right up to the end. You can tell that she's an experienced writer cause there's this particular writing style (which seems so mastered) that distinguishes her from other authors. Or perhaps it's because this book was from 1940 and that's pretty long ago. I want to watch the movie! Made in 1945. ![]() "First, there were ten - a curious assortment of strangers summoned as weekend guests to a private island off the coast of Devon. Their host, an eccentric millionaire unknown to all of them, is nowhere to be found. All the guests have in common is a wicked past they're unwilling to reveal - and a secret that will seal their fate. For each has been marked for murder. One by one they fall prey. Before the weekend is out, there will be none. And only the dead are above suspicion." To put it simply, "During the novel, several people, who previously committed murder but escaped due to technicalities, are tricked into coming onto an island. Even though the guests are the only people on the island, they are all mysteriously murdered in the manner of a nursery rhyme, one by one." The nursery rhyme is damn cool, you can check out this for it but the summary contains spoilers definitely. Very creepy, go read it! Tag replies. (: Shichun (2 Jun 09, 19:19)Was listening to the "Gold Mine" last night and this song came on, caught my attention soon as I heard it. The more I'm listening to it now the more attracted I am to it, it's about the tenth time now and I've still got goosebumps, because the melody and lyrics combined gives a really.. bittersweet feeling of some sort. Drowsy. Sad. Nostalgic. It also reminded me that I've got a Nicholas Sparks book unread which I have been intending to read since (the end of) December holidays last year but ah well, no time. The book's called "Dear John" and the song's called "Dear John Letter", same idea. As usual I went to wiki up the song and I've found results with this concept of "Dear John". Thought it would be interesting to share. "A"Dear John letter" is a letter written to a husband or boyfriend to inform him their relationship is over, usually because the author has found another man. Dear John Letters are often written out of an inability or unwillingness to inform the man in person. The reverse situation, in which someone writes to their wife or girlfriend to break off the relationship, is referred to as a "Dear Jane letter". While the exact origins of the phrase are unknown, it is commonly believed to have been coined by Americans during World War II. Large numbers of American troops were stationed overseas for many months or years, and as time passed many of their wives or girlfriends decided to begin a relationship with a new man rather than wait for their old one to return. As letters to servicemen from wives or girlfriends back home would typically contain affectionate language, a serviceman receiving a note beginning with a curt "Dear John" (as opposed to the expected "Dear Johnny", "My dearest John", or simply "Darling", for example) would instantly be aware of the letter's purpose. A writer in the Democrat and Chronicle of Rochester, NY, summed it up in August 1945: "Dear John," the letter began. "I have found someone else whom I think the world of. I think the only way out is for us to get a divorce," it said. They usually began like that, those letters that told of infidelity on the part of the wives of servicemen... The men called them "Dear Johns". There are a number of theories on why the name John is used rather than any other. John was a common name in America at the time the term was coined. John is also the name used in many other terms that refer to an anonymous man or men, such as "John Doe" or "John Smith". A signature is often referred to as a John Hancock." -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Dear_John_Letter It's an oldie, country music, original version was by Jean Shepard and Ferlin Husky back in 1953. The one I heard was another version by Skeeter Davis and Bobby Bare recorded in 1965, and I'm going to post this version today. Nevermind if it's not your style but I still think it's awesome music heh. Should listen to Gold 90FM more often and not stick to the same couple of oldies on my playlist. A few years back I would hate it when my dad plays Gold 90FM in his car, would switch it to another station, but now I realize that they are truly the most heartfelt music. Lived through, not just sang. "Dear John Letter" - Skeeter Davis & Bobby Bare. [Skeeter] Dear John, oh how I hate to write. Dear John, I must let you know tonight, That my love for you has died away like grass upon the lawn, And tonight I wed another dear John. [Bobby] I was overseas in battle when the postman came to me. He handed me a letter and I was just as happy as I could be, Cause the fighting was all over and the battles have all been won, But then I opened up the letter and that started: Dear John, Won't you please send back my picture my husband wants it now. When I tell you who I'm wedding you won't care dear anyhow. And it hurts me so to tell ye that my love for you has gone, But tonight I wed your brother dear John. [Skeeter] And tonight I wed another dear John. - |
