She is unpredictable, frequent moodswings. Sometimes she’s nice, and sometimes she’s not.

Her name is Yan Ying. 90% of the world can’t pronounce it properly, simple as it seems. But no one really cares so they just call her YY. She is not fond of people with the same name as her. She turns 14 on 6th September and she loves her birthday cause it is a sex symbol.

She was from Yew Tee Primary and is still proud of her school. She will never forget the class of 6D’07, or the batch of P6’07. She is currently an idiot in Nanyang Girls High and it is a love-hate relationship. She belongs to 202’09 which she, to be honest, doesn’t feel much for.

She is a Theatre Club girl and is more than proud to be one. She especially loves Emo Batch♥, and looks forward to devoting her next 3 years to TCN with much optimism.

She does ballet with more than just passion but she can’t do a center split. She is trying her best and is currently aiming for a far-fetched distinction for Grade6. She loves hiphop just as much though she’s pretty new at it. Her favourite sport is swimming and she occasionally plays basketball as a form of stress-relief. She likes to be tan and loves her swimming tan line. The piano, is yet another love-hate relationship.

Like most teenagers, her hobbies include MSNing, blogging, and youtubing and facebooking. She loves shopping and doing random stuff like gaying people, jumping over railings, walking in the rain, and having completely irregular sleeping hours.

Unlike most teenagers, she thinks that rap music is trash. She also thinks that she is getting old cause she hates the songs the average listens to these days. She can’t explain her love for oldies, country music, ballads, and sentimentals. Nostalgic songs are the best. Her favourite bands are Michael Learns to Rock, The Beatles and Westlife. She loves too many singers to name them all.

“Forevers” are bullshit as of now.

The night speaks to her the way no one else can. Her favourite thing to do is to curl up with a book on a rainy afternoon in her room, where she feels safest in. Her favourite flower is a black rose, but on the contrary, she likes rainbows and hugs too.

She is always torn between two.

But she is determined when she sets her mind on something, so she wants the world to shut up and believe in her. Just watch.

king of pop.

Taylor Swift: "It just doesn't feel real.. Everyone was walking around backstage saying "Have you heard?".

Before I start on anything else, I just have to blog something about this. I've never been a huge fan of MJ, and as much as I like relatively older songs, his songs just weren't that much of my type. Moreover I lived during the period that he was deemed a freak by everyone, so naturally I didn't go beyond the whole pedophilic and plastic surgery thing, except when I'm on the car, and his songs come on radio. My parents are huge fans of his especially my dad, so they would get very excited and start telling my brother and I about how legendary he is. Well, never failing to leave out his weird private life of course. It's sad that remembering him has to come along with that, but somehow that also makes him one of the most extraordinary people the world has ever seen.

"Never has one soared so high and yet dived so low. RIP Michael." - British Foreign Secretary Dvid Miliband on Twitter.

Putting that aside, if you're a music-lover you can't deny the fact that you must have felt at least a little something upon knowing of the sudden news. I may never know how the fans of MJ feel, but reading through Life! today I had this this sick wrenching feeling, seeing how badly shaken the music industry and the world is. I believe that there is of course, a little hypocrisy involved (remember what happened?), but too bad he never lived to see this. King of Pop, just like The Beatles and Elvis Presley, music wouldn't be like it is today if there wasn't MJ. It's a household name, tell me someone who hasn't heard of him because I'm pretty sure my grandpa who doesn't speak English knows of him too.

So what were you doing when MJ passed away yesterday morning? For me I was having my breakfast when 987FM - my maid plays it in the morning - came on with the news of his demise. At that moment it was still unconfirmed, so was when 97.2 reported the same news when I was in my mum's car, as well as when the yahoo homepage was somehow projected on the screen in LT7 at NUS. And then I heard whispers of "oh my god!", stuff like that. Heh bet the teachers were shocked too. When I got back that night I spent about the whole night reading up on MJ for the first time and discovered some rather amazing facts about how wronged he was. This guy will sum it up for you, Hilary showed me this video just minutes ago and it's very good, so watch it.

This one's a 29-second clip that shows his transformation, actually he looked pretty good at some point before he turned plastic. His recent pictures still send shivers up my spine, you can't disagree with me can you?

As for his songs, like I said I wasn't that into upbeat songs, so there's actually one slower and softer one which I have listened to during those late nights - without realizing that MJ was the one who sang it cause he was way more famous for other stuff. I've never put it on loop though. Showed Hilary this video and she was surprised that she recognized the song so maybe you will too. It's called "You Are Not Alone".

Everyday I sit and ask myself
How did love slip away
Something whispers in my ear and says
That you are not alone
For I am here with you
Though you're far away
I am here to stay

The others, I have about six or seven others but I don't listen to them alot except when I get really random and decide to put my entire playlist on random. I'm only more familiar with Beat It and Black or White ever since Adam Lambert did a version of it. My dad was watching MTV for the first time today - MJ's "rockumentary"/ tribute, and was debating with my mum over whether Billie Jean or Thriller was his hit song, I've heard them a couple of times before. Apparently my mum said that Thriller was about 13 minutes long and won the Guiness Award for the longest or most successful MV ever made. I watched it for the first time yesterday when Esther's counterpart (the voices in my head) told me to and yah it was freaky! But undeniably good and the dance steps are very nice.

The other thing that came to my mind? Bollywood. LOL. Cause it totally reminded me of Buffalax's spoof of Girly Man (not the official name) since they both wore the same red reflecting suit, had a whole group of people dancing behind them, had zombies. Then I realised that actually even the beat is similar. -_- The Thriller video's here, embedding is disabled but it's worth the watch.

Darkness falls across the land
The midnight hour is close at hand
Creatures crawl in search of blood
To terrorize y'alls neighborhood

The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of forty thousand years
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb
Are closing in to seal your doom

And though you fight to stay alive
Your body starts to shiver
For no mere mortal can resist
The evil of the thriller

Yup I guess that's all. I think world news are cool and I'm getting excited over this even though it's supposed to be devastating news. -_- By the way he won 197 major awards including 19 Grammys, 40 Billboard awards, 13 Guiness World Records and 13 MTV awards. They say he's the biggest pop sensation and is uncomparable. Well I guess so, you can go read up the quotes on how influential and legendary he is because I've never felt or known much of it considering the fact that I've never lived in his era. They also say that he's gone too soon but I can't really agree cause if I were him the whole bizzare life would be more than enough for me.

"I must confess that I am not surprised by today's tragic news. Michael has been on an impossibly difficult and often self-destructive journey for years. His talent was unquestionable and so was his discomfort with the norms of the world. A human simply cannot withstand this level of prolonged stressed." - Jackson's fromer publicist, Michael Levine.

Oh yes how could I have forgotten, my mum told me today that my third aunt and uncle went face-to-face with MJ at Simlim Square back in 93' when he came to Singapore for a concert. Not very sure on the facts but apparently when the hordes of fans came chasing after him he went into a shop (with his bodyguards I suppose) and they closed it, but coincidentally my aunt and uncle were inside at that time so they couldn't go out either. Oh my god man!

Now I shall kope KL's blog entry over because it is very logical and true, genius stuff written by a genius LOL. And most of it has already happened! Though the truest thing written is about the shameless Jonas Brothers. SUCK. MAH. BALLS.

"Michael Jackson's dead. I'm not here to say how good he was, enough people have done that here already. Instead, I want to tell you what happened... in bed. Alright, actually, I want to tell you the signs that I predict will happen following the falling of a great star. Michael Jackson, or Wacko Jacko, was a great star of his time, his fame matching those of Elvis and The Beatles. Now that he's suddenly gone, certain things will definitely happen. These are the signs I predict will happen, they might or might not (but most probably will).

1) Media Frenzy
Many people will not believe that he is dead first, and all the media will be scrambling to report on his death and preparing documentaries, tributes, programs about him. This will cause a great media frenzy which will last for weeks or months. For the next few weeks, you will be seeing a lot of Michael Jackson, more than when he was alive.

2) Celebrity Talks
There will be a lot of celebrities who will talk to the media about Michael Jackson (Madonna's already did it) and they will say how great a man or musician he was. Lots of unknown people will claim to know him and start spilling to the media for money. These are called Famewhores who live to make money out of his death. So, be prepared to read a lot of interviews about MJ.

3) From Glass To Diamond
Now that Michael Jackson is dead, everything he has touched turns to gold. All the little souvenirs from keychains to autographed albums to his house, everything limited edition, signed, or used by Michael Jackson will suddenly have a lot of value. A keychain which cost maybe $5 will suddenly skyrocket to $5000. Therefore, this leads us to the next point.

4) Selling
Over the next few weeks or months, a lot of Michael Jackson items will be seen on eBay or on auctions. People will try as hard as they can to milk as much money as possible from his death. Even though his planned London concerts cannot continue, the tickets are worth a lot of money now. Imagine - owning tickets to the show Michael Jackson never lived to play. It's a treasure and you can definitely expect to find lots of Michael Jackson items online.

5) Fans
There will be a lot of crying, hysterical, mourning, suicidal fans out there. Therefore, in order to cater to these audiences, there will be plenty of Michael Jackson in rememberance programs, radio shows, and definitely a Greatest Hits album or something like that. "Strike while the iron's hot", so Michael Jackson's team will definitely come up with some money making scheme soon.

6) In Memory
This is an extreme case, but I think it has a chance of happening considering Michael Jackson's popularity. There will be a Remember MJ Day or something along the lines, which will either take place on June 25th (the day he died) or on his birthday or something. It will become an occasion for them to milk more money, as well as to remember his greatness.

7) Disputes
Since he died unexpectedly, there might be people who will want a share of his fortune. Soon, people will claim that he owes them this or that, and there will be arguments or lawsuits even. (This is provided he has not made a will, which I doubt he has.)

All in all, there will be a lot of things happening now that Michael Jackson, literally the King of Pop, has died. Some singers will try to become the next King of Pop, (just like the Jonas Brothers who shamelessly try to become the next Beatles). But we can only remember Michael Jackson for his great music, weird behaviour, freakish looks and his alleged scandals. His death greatly overshadows the death of Farrah Fawcett (who died on the same day but due to cancer which she has been fighting for a very long time.)

Goodbye MJ!"

Yup, goodbye Michael Jackson, rest in peace!
