She is unpredictable, frequent moodswings. Sometimes she’s nice, and sometimes she’s not. Her name is Yan Ying. 90% of the world can’t pronounce it properly, simple as it seems. But no one really cares so they just call her YY. She is not fond of people with the same name as her. She turns 14 on 6th September and she loves her birthday cause it is a sex symbol. She was from Yew Tee Primary and is still proud of her school. She will never forget the class of 6D’07, or the batch of P6’07. She is currently an idiot in Nanyang Girls High and it is a love-hate relationship. She belongs to 202’09 which she, to be honest, doesn’t feel much for. She is a Theatre Club girl and is more than proud to be one. She especially loves Emo Batch♥, and looks forward to devoting her next 3 years to TCN with much optimism. She does ballet with more than just passion but she can’t do a center split. She is trying her best and is currently aiming for a far-fetched distinction for Grade6. She loves hiphop just as much though she’s pretty new at it. Her favourite sport is swimming and she occasionally plays basketball as a form of stress-relief. She likes to be tan and loves her swimming tan line. The piano, is yet another love-hate relationship. Like most teenagers, her hobbies include MSNing, blogging, and youtubing and facebooking. She loves shopping and doing random stuff like gaying people, jumping over railings, walking in the rain, and having completely irregular sleeping hours. Unlike most teenagers, she thinks that rap music is trash. She also thinks that she is getting old cause she hates the songs the average listens to these days. She can’t explain her love for oldies, country music, ballads, and sentimentals. Nostalgic songs are the best. Her favourite bands are Michael Learns to Rock, The Beatles and Westlife. She loves too many singers to name them all. “Forevers” are bullshit as of now. The night speaks to her the way no one else can. Her favourite thing to do is to curl up with a book on a rainy afternoon in her room, where she feels safest in. Her favourite flower is a black rose, but on the contrary, she likes rainbows and hugs too. She is always torn between two. But she is determined when she sets her mind on something, so she wants the world to shut up and believe in her. Just watch.Tag

sec 2 lsc camp'09!
LSC camp! Hoorah. Just uploaded the pictures on FB, damn happening now cause there are uploads everywhere. Apparently lots of people are having camp blues and don't feel like starting on homework; 10 March is what we call the death day. Monday Mainly the Night Trail dry run. Didn't go too well, lots of screw-ups, which got us pretty worried and disheartened by the end of the day. Like because there's only one dry run before the actual thing so we couldn't be confident for the activity at all. Realized that there were still so many minor things to be taken care of, last minute changes that needs to be done, etc. But honestly, at the end of the day it was the dry run that was much tougher and exhausting than the real thing (we were basically having fun). Dry run was played by facilitators and held in the day, obviously, so I took the chance to get some pictures just that there wasn't the extra "darkness" effect. Ended up being like another amazing race kinda thing, mmhmm. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Tuesday Personality Assessment Workshop. Wasn't too keen on stoning in the conference room for most of the day but it didn't turn out that bad, the speaker was really entertaining as well and the examples he gave were totally hilarious. Nowonder AmyLim emphasized a heck load on how it costs alot of money. So I was like wow! Not. Either way it was still really interesting and I had a good time poking fun at mainly WanLi/Jiaying cause the personality trait they got suited them very much. DISC - Dominance; Influential (Jiaying, Shichun, Eleen); Steadiness (WanLi); Compliance. I'm a High D, pretty cool cause only about 3% of the world is the same. "Dominance: People who score high in the intensity of the "D" styles factor are very active in dealing with problems and challenges, while low "D" scores are people who want to do more research before committing to a decision. High "D" people are described as demanding, forceful, egocentric, strong willed, driving, determined, ambitious, aggressive, and pioneering. Low D scores describe those who are conservative, low keyed, cooperative, calculating, undemanding, cautious, mild, agreeable, modest and peaceful. Influence: People with High "I" scores influence others through talking and activity and tend to be emotional. They are described as convincing, magnetic, political, enthusiastic, persuasive, warm, demonstrative, trusting, and optimistic. Those with Low "I" scores influence more by data and facts, and not with feelings. They are described as reflective, factual, calculating, skeptical, logical, suspicious, matter of fact, pessimistic, and critical. Steadiness:(Submission in Marston's time): People with High "S" styles scores want a steady pace, security, and do not like sudden change. High "S" persons are calm, relaxed, patient, possessive, predictable, deliberate, stable, consistent, and tend to be unemotional and poker faced. Low "S" intensity scores are those who like change and variety. People with Low "S" scores are described as restless, demonstrative, impatient, eager, or even impulsive. Conscientious: (Compliance in Marston's time): Persons with High "C" styles adhere to rules, regulations, and structure. They like to do quality work and do it right the first time. High "C" people are careful, cautious, exacting, neat, systematic, diplomatic, accurate, and tactful. Those with Low "C" scores challenge the rules and want independence and are described as self-willed, stubborn, opinionated, unsystematic, arbitrary, and careless with details." - Wikipedia.org. Followed by a C. My mum (and batchmates) guessed me correctly but classmates kind of expected more of an "I", funny how you behave in different places, mmhmm. ![]() After struggling to stand after hours of sitting, we mopped the classroom floor/stacked tables etc. And discovered that the floor absorbs water cause the colour changed after we poured buckets and buckets of water on it, though it wasn't as flooded as 205's, fortunately. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Wednesday Honestly, I preferred this year's camp to last year cause there were lots of pockets of free time in between to bond/sleep/do random stuff. Heard that someone complained that last year's was too hectic and stuff. So that fact was good, but I somehow felt that it didn't have as much enthusiasm as last year with tons of cheering all that. There was like an hour plus for final preparations for Night Trail at night before heading off to Chinese Garden for Amazing Race, so yah. Worked abit more with Ling An, Cherie, and for awhile at first we couldn't bear to bother Liyi and LingTing. Was just the day before that the blow came really hard, when I saw them me being me I didn't know what to say so I gave them hugs, made me feel rather sad. And on that same day I was ending a conversation with LT not long ago telling her good luck, sms-ing LY not to worry, I'm sure they can do it. Just didn't turn out that way. I see them practising at the netball court every morning, all that effort, I still think they deserve to be in. ![]() ![]() Zara, Hilary's very cute mortal! And in the background you can see me and Ling An amending the Night Trail powerpoint haha. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Headed over to Chinese Garden afterwards. Was niaoing Jolyn on her "boxers". Wanli said something really sick I can't remember what, I think it was, "Underneath got wear anything or not?" And we were like OWL! (Omg Wan Li) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Amazing Race, put together by 201 and 207(?), was really fun. Fortunately it didn't rain, seeing how inconsistent the weather is. Good job allies, thought it was managed very well and smoothly, just that it's such a pity we only had 1 hour to play it. My class only completed 5 out of 20 stations, quite sure it would be much more enjoyable if we could play all of them. Heh anyway the place seemed foreign and I was like wowwww cause I haven't been there in like since forever and ever so I didn't have any impression of it except for the huge bridge. Came back to school, stoned again in the classroom, and then went for lunch. I finished every single grain of rice!! Whoever said my appetite was small? ![]() ![]() ![]() You know, Jiaying made me her boyfriend for a day cause somehow I looked like a boy on that day, especially from behind. ![]() ![]() ![]() Cool right! Then had some household management video thingy. On top of it Mrs Tan (our art teacher/teacher-in-charge 2 for camp) showed us some video which made fun of the Japs' strict formality and rules. And there was this quote which 202-ers couldn't stop saying - "Maamaamaamaa" "Ohtototo!" Nevermind you'll never understand it haha! Sorry I'm lazy to find the youtube video cause my computer is like a dead fish now so I'm like alternating between this page, Photobucket and iTunes only. Drama prep, everyone got quite enthu at the last run-through. But during some parts in the morning/afternoon I was being rather tactless, just wasn't nice to people and being really uncontrollably mean. Like all that "Why didn't you..?!??!" and stuff. You know I'm lucky to have such understanding friends, really I'll try to be less of a bitch. =/ [what the bloody shit is wrong with my computer laggy shitass zomg.] Shower. Wasn't the first neither was I the last so I had to queue pretty long, no choice. Retards banging the door outside when my watch says 2 minutes, so I used my bitch power and snapped back at them. At least I got done within 4 minutes. Daphne came to find me in class after that cause Mr Ng needed 4 people to lug the cloth thing up to M4. He said 4.35 but we came down at 4.25 so we started zilianing at the carpark! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Mm. Then preparations for night trail had to start. So we started off by carrying like, 88 tables in all to Conference Rooms B&C. Not that bad cause it was the entire 202 and 205 so max 2 tables per person. I LOST MY PHONE and took half an hour to find it, and it was sitting comfortably in the conference room the whole time. Imba. Dinner. Ling An and I were prancing around, being chao excited/anxious/nervous/HIGH about Night Trail so we barely ate anything. The 205 people thought we went crazy cause we were standing at opposite ends of their table and challenging to see who could shout instructions louder. o.o Took the chance to check on all the station venues while everyone else was eating, last minute clean-ups on those places etc. Around 6.30 we met up with 202 and 205 at the hall for a final briefing to get them enthusiastic and confident about stuff, and was glad to see that most of them were. :D For the hour before 7.30 the five of us (ICs and vice ICs) went around the stations checking progress/setting up laptop and all that, and by 7.20 we were like zomg already, seeing the classes fill into the hall one by one. Can't afford to screw after an entire term's of hardwork, you see. Night Trail. On the last day of camp Ling An came up to me and said, "Yan Ying, I'll never forget the night trail man." and then she couldn't continue anymore cause she was lost for words so she finally said, "It was like damn cool omg!" Indeed. I mean how many times do you get to organize an activity for 11 classes? xD ![]() ![]() LingTing, Li Yi, Cherie, Ling An and me! ♥ The 3rd picture was taken on the last day but Cherie already left for training.. Heh really, I'll badly miss the planning, working with the four of them very nice and efficient people, etc. No more spamming of inbox with night trail stuff especially the last two weeks before the night trail. Through the project I also got to know quite alot of 205 people, including Pei Qi who's super sweet! She gave me a hug on the last day of camp haha. At 7.30 we started the activity, LA, LY and Cherie briefed the classes, I read the murder story from backstage, LT and the Station 1b) people helped with offing the lights and stuff. Dispersing the classes was mad cause it was like voom, all 11 at once, confirm scary okay. And this is only like 6 of them. ![]() First 20 minutes we were like on "serious patrolling". We went all 5 together cause they were scared to split up and I was like laughing cause I didn't know Ling An/Cherie was scared of this kinda thing! So they were o.o when I stepped into dark toilets alone/backstage of the hall/walking along the science block corridor and stuff. To be honest I'm freaked out by this kind of thing too but the school was so alive then there was nothing to be scared of! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The last picture was of us squatting and hiding from one of the classes, damn funny and stupid we were laughing quite hard. After the 20 minutes we figured that stuff were going on smoothly/we didn't receive urgent calls and stuff so we did stupid stuff. We started off by screaming out of random (some classes actually screamed after hearing us scream) but we found that it wasn't that fun. So we did more crazy and stupid things. Eg. I lent LY my white jacket (she was wearing an orange shirt) and she untied her hair and flung it over her face, and then we ran past the general office (one of the stations is there) with me shouting "NO DON'T KILL ME NO!!!" and her just doing random screams. That class got really freaked out. ;D But afterwards as we continued walking we saw Teacher A and she told us to monitor the classes' screamings or something. "It is inevitable cause this is the night trail blahblahblah but it will disturb the residents blahblahblah just make sure that the screamings don't get too loud blahblahblah..." LY and I were trying to stifle our laughter cause she obviously didn't know what we did. Then I said, "I think I heard two girls screaming very loudly just now. I don't know why but they keep screaming, like we heard them lots of times already." And AmyLim was nodding very understandingly and I continued, "Should LiYi and I go and find them to see if we can calm them down?" When we met up with the rest later on they were like ROFL. Retarded stuff! For the next hour we didn't scream anymore but that crazily high Liyi and I did some exaggerated impromptu theatre stuff. Like randomly saying "I didn't kill you!" "I really need the money!" "Spare my life, please..", didn't shout but projected our voices, so the classes could hear it. "Stupid suspenseful conversations which mislead the classes, running and screaming and scaring other people." Half the time it worked/scared people and half the time it just left the classes going ???. Either way it was still fun! And quite successful considering the fact that we were in what, normal school attire. -.- Yeah at the end of it the tabulating scores part was shit tough and messy cause there was so much to do in such little time. Ended up with 203 winning, followed by 201 then 210. Congratulations. :D Hope you guys enjoyed the night trail! Back in class a group of us ended up doing a little bit of reflections, oh well, pretty emotional, rare moments I find 202 bonded. Realized that I should learn to trust people more - hey see, the activity turned out awesome and it was everyone's effort - and not be so "D"/"C" cause we all CAN do it. (: Two lessons I've learnt from the night trail: 1) Don't be such an ass and spoil things by calling out stuff like "I know that is you lah XXX!" (Cheryl and Regine were complaining about that too.) Obviously you know that is us, but just enjoy and have fun! 2) Appreciate the effort. Before this I never knew how much planning and effort was put into these stuff, easy for people to say that it "sucks" cause that just takes a second without even giving much thought and consideration. I've only seen one of that comment, fortunately, other than that everyone else found it to be interesting and fun. (: I saw quite alot of "super scary" on blogs so I was like happy cause we didn't. even. intend. to. add. the. scary. element. in. Hooray for imaginative Nanyang girls!!! Apparently the impromptu thing Liyi and I did played a huge part too! Anyway Night Trail got the "most creative" prize cause I guess the games were original and didn't kope from anywhere. :D Yah I guess that's all for night trail hehe. And on our part the scariest things for night trail are like, last minute changes and realizing on like Monday that there were still minor details that weren't taken care of yet. Was like the last to wash up, went with Klara and Wan Li after lights out. Ended up sleeping at around 12+ cause I was listening to songs on my handphone haha. Thursday ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Breakfast with parents was totally lame. Like obviously you can tell that the mums were the ones who desperately wanted to come and get "involved with their daughter's life" while the dads were emoing at one corner fuming, "why the hell am I dragged up at 6am in the morning for this?" Just observe. ![]() Had like one hour to the start of Telematch game, so I took the chance to sleep cause was feeling so stone and dead. A group of them played the truth or dare game, I think SC and JY tried to wake me up and ask me if I wanna play. I could vaguely hear them cause I was in the half-asleep state but was too lazy to drag myself up so I ended up daoing them and continued my sleep. xD Apparently I heard that WanLi and Cheryl did a dare and went around screaming "I am the king of the jungle!" or something..? Telematch was quite fun too, poor Sandra kept getting lost! Cause while everyone else said "behbeh" she went "bahbah" so she was like trapped in the middle of all the horrible 207 people. 202 won the Obstacle Course game so hooray to 202!! I shall tell you what happened. After the obstacle course there was a break, and Wu Lao Shi finally found us after searching the school for a very long time. She was so relieved that she raised her coffee cup and went in Chinese, "This is to 202!" Then someone went, "if you are sincere then treat us all to ice-cream!" And she really did zomg. When she walked over to the snacks stall three of them went to persuade her and stop her cause she's being too nice but they couldn't. So the entire class ran over there and pleaded her not to buy for us!! But she still did and we were really touched okay. It wasn't just the ice-cream actually, it was more of how nice and encouraging she is over the past year which made us feel that well, it's not easy to find another teacher like her. In the end we deliberated over returning the money to her and using the ice-cream sticks to make something for her and decided on the latter. Cause obviously she'll be much happier to receive the second one and might even reject the former. We were imitating what Teacher A's reaction would be if we joked about wanting her to treat us to ice-creams. ![]() Before we started the third game there was the lightning alert thing and had to stop the games. Poor 206 and 213, it's like half their efforts gone. ): At least I got to go back to class and sleep..again!! ![]() Cheryl. :D Lunch, and I finished every single grain of rice again. Lol and again I gave my veggies to people. Xueying from 201 didn't want to eat her lunch cause apparently she didn't like the food so I was making a big deal about how pitiful the African people are. So SC and JY were telling me to go dig into the dustbin for food and we suggested doing this documentary "Living in Africa" where you try jumping into dustbins and scavenging for food. ![]() ![]() ![]() "It's nice and round and brown!" - Chloe Chu. Leadership games was okay on the whole. I enjoyed the obstacle course and pop charade (Cheryl was awesome!), but not as much for slipper wars. Cause it was totally violent (it's hard to follow instructions for games like those), alot of slippers got torn apart, most of us looked like a siao zha bor afterwards (the hair omg), and some people got hurt. Agree that the Leanne person from 211 is an "outstanding leader" cause she's very confident and has that charisma, stuff. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Bathing. Wan Li, Wee Lin and I went to bathe quite late so I was the last to use my assigned cubicle. Had so much time I could like sing and dance inside. After dinner before Movie Night we watched the sushi video in class which Mrs Tan showed! Everyone got crazy and couldn't stop "maamaamaamaa" and "ohtototo"ing. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Wee Lin playing poker!! OO: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Good choice of Movie for Movie Night! Here's what the 203 girls said: "We are showing Gandhi!" HUGEEE reaction among audience, since Gandhi is like the most boring movie on Earth, three hours long. I was like omgwtf "I knew it, confirm some boring educational movie, that stupid-" "If you think we are watching Gandhi, you are wrong. We are watching, The School of Rock!" Audience cheers. Hoorah! Apparently some 208 girl brought pen and paper to TAKE DOWN NOTES for History SIA cause she heard that they were watching Gandhi! Like, wow? Anyway I though the movie they screened was nice lor, watched it thrice before though, but heard that the teachers were like going on and on about how the language is you know. Bad. But the thing is, there was this particular actor in it which I have 单恋ed four years ago! The first time I watched the movie was when I was 9 or 10 and this guy blew me away!! He is Freddy Jones in the movie and he drums very shuai-ly and I remember being really obsessed with him I was like googling and googling.. Not very famous but cute. (: Sleeping in the quadrangle was cancelled cause the weather forecast said there was gonna be a rain. Indeed! Everyone cheered very loudly cause sleeping in the quadrangle is the shittiest activity ever. And the fact that there you can't see any stars in the sky just defeats the entire purpose. Back in the classroom three facilitators from 203 came to do some reflections on the movie thingum with us. Basically everyone just stoned and they were damn wrong in thinking that 202 is a very enthu class. I was answering lots of questions cause they had chocolates to give out and they decided to stop giving me after awhile. Sad. Friday Friday, not much. Had the drama-task thing which sadly we didn't win anything this time round. Heard that our junior class got 2nd for their talentime, congratulations 102! I guess I'll just lump all the Friday pictures here then. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Night Trail prize! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Oh yah after break camp we celebrated Hilary's birthday! Actually it is on Saturday but oh well. Anyway she was literally touched to tears and was crying and her nose became red. We love you Hilary!! :D ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Yay done with my entry. GohShiChun I'm faster than you. (: Tomorrow's a school holiday but there's CCA, will be nothing as slack as the past few sessions mainly because the cloth thing is finally in. 5 practices this week, what's stopping me from complaining is that others have it like us if not worse, reading blogs by those determined people is rather motivating cause I hate the feeling of losing out. So we have to be just as good if not better. And if I get tagged in those stupid "Little People" photos on facebook one more time, I'm going to screw the shit out of all the "Little People". My inbox keeps getting spammed by "XXX commented on a photo of you" and it turns out to be another of those LITTLE PEOPLE thing again. Wtf. - |
