She is unpredictable, frequent moodswings. Sometimes she’s nice, and sometimes she’s not.

Her name is Yan Ying. 90% of the world can’t pronounce it properly, simple as it seems. But no one really cares so they just call her YY. She is not fond of people with the same name as her. She turns 14 on 6th September and she loves her birthday cause it is a sex symbol.

She was from Yew Tee Primary and is still proud of her school. She will never forget the class of 6D’07, or the batch of P6’07. She is currently an idiot in Nanyang Girls High and it is a love-hate relationship. She belongs to 202’09 which she, to be honest, doesn’t feel much for.

She is a Theatre Club girl and is more than proud to be one. She especially loves Emo Batch♥, and looks forward to devoting her next 3 years to TCN with much optimism.

She does ballet with more than just passion but she can’t do a center split. She is trying her best and is currently aiming for a far-fetched distinction for Grade6. She loves hiphop just as much though she’s pretty new at it. Her favourite sport is swimming and she occasionally plays basketball as a form of stress-relief. She likes to be tan and loves her swimming tan line. The piano, is yet another love-hate relationship.

Like most teenagers, her hobbies include MSNing, blogging, and youtubing and facebooking. She loves shopping and doing random stuff like gaying people, jumping over railings, walking in the rain, and having completely irregular sleeping hours.

Unlike most teenagers, she thinks that rap music is trash. She also thinks that she is getting old cause she hates the songs the average listens to these days. She can’t explain her love for oldies, country music, ballads, and sentimentals. Nostalgic songs are the best. Her favourite bands are Michael Learns to Rock, The Beatles and Westlife. She loves too many singers to name them all.

“Forevers” are bullshit as of now.

The night speaks to her the way no one else can. Her favourite thing to do is to curl up with a book on a rainy afternoon in her room, where she feels safest in. Her favourite flower is a black rose, but on the contrary, she likes rainbows and hugs too.

She is always torn between two.

But she is determined when she sets her mind on something, so she wants the world to shut up and believe in her. Just watch.

7 things.

As usual I was thinking about random stuff while showering today, and as you know one thing always leads to another. Somehow today's topic landed on seven memorable childhood incidents which are quite worth the mention.

1) Children Games.
My Nursery was at PAP and the first year went pretty fine, but at the start of the second year I had this Chinese teacher who always made us play this game (in chinese) - "What Time is it Mr Wolf?". No, I didn't enjoy it one single bit, and I was always the last person in the crowd of enthusiastic children.

So whenever "Mr Wolf" shouts "12 o'clock!", I would scream the loudest, my heart would start palpitating, and I would be the first to run and hide under the table, which is "our house". When I finally had enough of it, I complained to my mum, and if I'm not wrong that was how I got to switch school.

2) Fat teacher.
After switching school, I had a form teacher by the name of Mrs. Seah. I remember her to be the kind of strict-yet-nice teacher, but somehow I didn't like her cause she was fat. Yes, so I started feigning headaches to get out of school, which was successful and perhaps more successful that if I were to feign one now. Anyway I ended up telling my mum the truth, and good heavens, I got to switch schools again because my mum could do absolutely nothing to stop my stubborness. I think I only spent about 3 months there.

3) Minor Infatuation.
Now I love the third school especially much, "Gloryland Childcare Centre" which is walking distance from the condominium I used to live in. The first time I went there with my parents to take a look was in the afternoon when the children were taking their compulsary afternoon nap. It happened to be love at first sight with the school, and apparently also with this certain boy.

I guess my first infatuation dated much longer before primary school, cause until now I still can still remember the first time we caught each others' eye (he was lying awake and wondering who had came through the door). So afterwards when we got back to the car I commented to my parents that "he looks like a lion". Hah!

And speaking of afternoon naps, I remember after I joined the school, I realized that compulsary afternoon naps was our most hated programme cause if you can't sleep, then all you can do is toss and turn around for two hours. Funny how these days afternoon naps are actually a priority and how it is almost impossible to find time to have one.

So during afternoon naps, people like me who couldn't sleep would either lie awake and talk or sometimes if we feel daring run around the room among others who were sleeping. Each time we hear the door creak open we would scramble back to our mattress, and well, good luck to the others who couldn't get back in time. Standing with hands on his/her head until afternoon nap ends.

4) Stealing is a serious offence.
For a short period of time there was this stealing trend going on in that childcare centre, and I did it once and only once. Sometimes during afternoon naps if you are lucky teachers would call the ones who are awake to help them take worksheets from/put worksheets in the "classroom". So there was once I got called out with a friend (can't remember who), and she was tempting me to steal someone's mechanical pencil from his pencil box. If I remember correctly it was Mr. Minor Infatuation's.

She stole a green one from someone else and I stole the yellow, and can you imagine how frightened I was that I would get busted (the boy did lodge a complain, like everybody else). I just saw the pencil a year or two ago while spring-cleaning, and decided to throw it away because it was unusable already.

5) Kidnap.
Over there too, there was this very strict yet petite teacher by the name of Mrs Ang, and she loves to bully me above anyone else. Everytime she sees me she would tell me that she will bring me back home with her that night and that I won't be going home. And then I will feel so scared I can almost pee in my pants, literally cause she made it sound very real and I really believed her. The whole day during lesson I would dread 6pm cause I didn't want to go home with her and that huge lorry her husband drives.

Obviously after a few more times I went home to mama and complained. She told me to reply some stuff when Mrs Ang says that again - can't exactly remember what but it was something defiantly cute. As you might not know, when I was younger I was VERY afraid of getting scolded by teachers and everytime I did my eyes would water instantly. So I just screamed that at her and ran off. Well no, if you're wondering, her pestering didn't stop.

Finally after sometime she left the school, I don't know where she went but yah she did.

6) I made a boy cry.
Oh this one was really sad, and up till now I haven't quite gotten over the guilt. It happened while I was queueing up for shower, and this boy came up to me with the book "Sleeping Beauty". He gave it to me as an early birthday present cause for some reasons he couldn't attend my birthday party. Unforunately some annoying senior one year older was down there right behind me in the queue and she insisted that I don't accept the book.

This senior was the pretty pretty material-girl kind (though she was only K2/P1) and everyone wanted to get into her good books. So after abit of hesitation I pushed the book back to him, and I think I added something really mean. I can't remember what I said but ugh, thinking about it makes me feel the guilt again. Poor boy started crying, I went home and told my mama, and she said to accept the present from him the next day.

I still have the book!

7) Sexual Assault.
This incident was the most traumatizing and wrong one above all, happened in either K1/K2 too. There was this Chinese teacher from China, and she really looks like the random uncivilised village auntie with short curly hair and a horse-like face. FOR THIS INCIDENT I'M LIKE 100% SURE SHE'S IN THE WRONG.

She set this rule that we cannot talk in Chinese class, or she would make us pull our pants/dress down. I don't know, somehow a boy (not Mr. Minor Infatuation) didn't think she was serious or something and whispered something to his friend, so the teacher dragged him out of his seat and made him stand in front of the class.

AND GUESS WHAT. She really pulled his pants down INCLUDING THE UNDERWEAR, and forced him to stop crying. It was quite horrifying and heartwrenching to see the class clown crying like that cause yeah he's a really funny and lovable guy. I mean like hello, the boy is 6, he knows what shame is. Anyway everyone was like ohmygod, staring at it unbelievably for a couple of seconds and we went back to work, together carrying this same hatred for the teacher. Deal with the boy, but not this way!

Quite soon after she left the school and I never saw her again. But I still think this case can be pursued further and she can be sued if I want to, cause it is a totally traumatizing incident for the boy, and even for us. Because from then on I finally knew how a dick looked like, even if it's of a small boy's.

Amazing how there are some stuff which made so much of an impact you can still remember them so clearly after nearing a decade. Wow I'm old!!
