She is unpredictable, frequent moodswings. Sometimes she’s nice, and sometimes she’s not.

Her name is Yan Ying. 90% of the world can’t pronounce it properly, simple as it seems. But no one really cares so they just call her YY. She is not fond of people with the same name as her. She turns 14 on 6th September and she loves her birthday cause it is a sex symbol.

She was from Yew Tee Primary and is still proud of her school. She will never forget the class of 6D’07, or the batch of P6’07. She is currently an idiot in Nanyang Girls High and it is a love-hate relationship. She belongs to 202’09 which she, to be honest, doesn’t feel much for.

She is a Theatre Club girl and is more than proud to be one. She especially loves Emo Batch♥, and looks forward to devoting her next 3 years to TCN with much optimism.

She does ballet with more than just passion but she can’t do a center split. She is trying her best and is currently aiming for a far-fetched distinction for Grade6. She loves hiphop just as much though she’s pretty new at it. Her favourite sport is swimming and she occasionally plays basketball as a form of stress-relief. She likes to be tan and loves her swimming tan line. The piano, is yet another love-hate relationship.

Like most teenagers, her hobbies include MSNing, blogging, and youtubing and facebooking. She loves shopping and doing random stuff like gaying people, jumping over railings, walking in the rain, and having completely irregular sleeping hours.

Unlike most teenagers, she thinks that rap music is trash. She also thinks that she is getting old cause she hates the songs the average listens to these days. She can’t explain her love for oldies, country music, ballads, and sentimentals. Nostalgic songs are the best. Her favourite bands are Michael Learns to Rock, The Beatles and Westlife. She loves too many singers to name them all.

“Forevers” are bullshit as of now.

The night speaks to her the way no one else can. Her favourite thing to do is to curl up with a book on a rainy afternoon in her room, where she feels safest in. Her favourite flower is a black rose, but on the contrary, she likes rainbows and hugs too.

She is always torn between two.

But she is determined when she sets her mind on something, so she wants the world to shut up and believe in her. Just watch.

week.

Hello it's Saturday afternoon.

Today it's: Piano lesson in the morning, trimmed hair, came home and changed class blogskin (thank you KL). Doing a little bit of homework later which the teachers gave more than the average weekend homework, obviously for us to slog over during CNY. Tidying room after that which now looks like the nest of a karang guni man. And there's reunion dinner tonight, yay!

I see CNY is coming...again. So today my cousin and I were talking about it over piano lesson, and we formulated the yearly Great Plan which goes like this:

初一, morning head over to my parents' office. Use computer while they do some idkwhat stuff. Next, head over to maternal grandparents' house to stone (FOR THE WHOLE DAY). Firstly you kope seats, then you stone and eat, stone and eat, stone and eat. Play Mahjong if the adults decide to bring it out. If not, do homework.

初二, travel to those once-a-year-you-meet-them relatives' house. As usual kope seats again, stone and eat, stone and eat, then go over to another once-a-year-you-meet-them relatives' house. On this day, fake enthusiastic dialogues such as "哇! 这个是谁的儿子/女儿?!" or "哇! 这么大了啊!" or "哇! 这么漂亮了啊!" are expected. Very standard. And then chiong the last of your homework at night.

初三 is usually another "travel to those once-a-year-you-meet-them relatives' house" day, but there for this year there is school. And what I like about CNY is as followed: food, shopping, mahjong. And reunion dinner with my maternal side too. (:

This week turned out to be quite slack cause somehow my two tuition replacements (tuesday and thursday nights) got cancelled! Woohoo. I think the most eventful thing that happened this week was Obama's Inauguration which I stayed till 2am to watch.

After CCA on Tuesday I went to do some failed last minute shopping with my parents at the Orchard area which of course I didn't get anything, and instead reached home at around eleven. I took a shower and settled in front of the TV screen with my homework.

You know what's ironic? The homework I was doing was a comprehension passage on Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I have a Dream" speech, which was made during the civil war period (or right after, not very sure) in 1963! When the blacks were still being discriminated obviously.

It will be very long and wordy if I google his speech and paste it here, but it's worth reading if you can't hear clearly what he's saying. Heh it's like very inspirational, his 语气. I love LA lessons nowadays cause I like the topic we're doing on (racism and civil war) as well as the teacher! Kristine Oehlers is so fun.

Yah, the irony! There they were sworning in the first black President of America (his dad is an African immigrant btw) and there I was doing a comprehension of King's speech on civil rights. I've never watched an inauguration before so I was like focusing more on the TV instead of my homework. IT'S LIKE ALL THE IMPORTANT FIRSTFIRSTFIRST CLASS PEOPLE PARADING THERE. Super cool!!

Someone was probably cursing and swearing, cause he stands for Anarchism. But whatever CAUSE I DON'T. :D

Barack Obama screwed the sworning in (jumbling up the words). He did a really long speech and promised a lot of stuff though. I wonder if he's really going to live up to them yeah, and I hope he is cause I despise lip-service people.

Shall post pictures~

Our favourite teacher Wu Lao Shi! x3 She was so cute on that day.

Yup and yesterday was also my grandfather's birthday so HAPPY BIRTHDAY 外公! He is like super hilarious cause of his bao zhao temper LMFAO. We had a surprise celebration party for him yesterday, I'll tell you the story.

Cause my grandfather is those 口是心非 people, being very apathetic and insisting that he doesn't want to celebrate but actually still want one. Every year the same. So we decided to bully him this year - everyone don't mention his birthday at all or give him red packets. So obviously his entire morning and afternoon were spent being very pissed off. In the day my grandmother called my mum and aunt to talk about wuliao stuff in hope that they will mention my grandfather's birthday, but they decided to stick to the plan and say nothing about it.

So yah he very pekcek. At 830pm my aunts and uncles and cousins gathered downstairs his at the void deck and got ready the cakes and stuff. My oldest cousin (yeah she's the super smart one who's studying in Beijing U!) was in charge of bringing the cake into the house. We got up to the 9th floor, lit the candles, and then crept up to the door. Knocked. He came over looking very pissed off and then broke into a smile as soon as we yelled "生日快乐!"

When I get the video from my aunt I'll post it here. Anyway this was the sequence of events told in pictures:

Anyway he was really touched to tears!! As in literally!
