Her name is Yan Ying. 90% of the world can’t pronounce it properly, simple as it seems. But no one really cares so they just call her YY. She is not fond of people with the same name as her. She turns 14 on 6th September and she loves her birthday cause it is a sex symbol. She was from Yew Tee Primary and is still proud of her school. She will never forget the class of 6D’07, or the batch of P6’07. She is currently an idiot in Nanyang Girls High and it is a love-hate relationship. She belongs to 202’09 which she, to be honest, doesn’t feel much for. She is a Theatre Club girl and is more than proud to be one. She especially loves Emo Batch♥, and looks forward to devoting her next 3 years to TCN with much optimism. She does ballet with more than just passion but she can’t do a center split. She is trying her best and is currently aiming for a far-fetched distinction for Grade6. She loves hiphop just as much though she’s pretty new at it. Her favourite sport is swimming and she occasionally plays basketball as a form of stress-relief. She likes to be tan and loves her swimming tan line. The piano, is yet another love-hate relationship. Like most teenagers, her hobbies include MSNing, blogging, and youtubing and facebooking. She loves shopping and doing random stuff like gaying people, jumping over railings, walking in the rain, and having completely irregular sleeping hours. Unlike most teenagers, she thinks that rap music is trash. She also thinks that she is getting old cause she hates the songs the average listens to these days. She can’t explain her love for oldies, country music, ballads, and sentimentals. Nostalgic songs are the best. Her favourite bands are Michael Learns to Rock, The Beatles and Westlife. She loves too many singers to name them all. “Forevers” are bullshit as of now. The night speaks to her the way no one else can. Her favourite thing to do is to curl up with a book on a rainy afternoon in her room, where she feels safest in. Her favourite flower is a black rose, but on the contrary, she likes rainbows and hugs too. She is always torn between two. hello 2009,
Please make this a really really happy year and may all the emo people turn happy!!LOL.
Speaking of that, I was spamming HNY smses at 12am today, and among the 50+ (happy) replies I received there was one which went "Mine sucked." I couldn't help it so I was rolling with laughter upon reading, I mean, it's new year for goodness sake, at least be happy right! And you are emo (and despo) because of pointless stuff, isn't that going a little too far?
Well anyway, I went CNY "shopping" with Wan Ting yesterday which totally sucked. Firstly we went to Chinatown which was like some heritage tour, and then we went to Wisma. Should've gone to Bugis but we were pretty reluctant cause we've been there many times, and finally concluded that we were sick of shopping in Singapore.

At the end of the day, after being out of the house for a total of 5 hours, my cousin got nothing and I ended up with two tanks from Mango. My aunt works in there but apparently I went to the wrong outlet, so no discount.
So for the rest of the day I listened to 987fm's Top 100 Countdown, which was pleasing and disappointing at the same time. Some of them really deserved the top 20 spots, but Kanye West's "Stronger" at 4th?! At top 20 I started going high online with JJ and KL, so we were really really damn pissed cause "Stronger" was so undeserving. We got around half of our predictions for top 10 right (I think) and guessed that Womanizer, Hot N' Cold, Love Story would most likely be in next year's. Anyway this is the full list:

The countdown of all coutndowns- This is the 987FM top 100 countdown of 2008, the offical chartshow of singapore, which is based on airplay, record sales, requests, downloads and your votes. On the last day of the year, we countdown the top 100 songs of 2008, 100 of the biggst songs that rocked singapore in the year 2008.
We kick things off at no.100 with Keane's Spiralling. Madonna is the oldest artiste on the top 100 and Give It 2 Me is at 99.Lil Wayne's A Mili is the only song on the 987FM top 100 countdown history that manage to get into the top 100 without even appearing in the top 20. Later2 Nite is at 93, it is also one of the two local songs that appeared in this year's top 100, the other belongs to Max Shanti's Just Us Two. Won't Go Home Without You is at 91. Static Major is the only dead artiste with an entry in the top 100 with Lollipop at 71.
Avril Lavigne's The Best Damn Thing is the lowest no.1 song on the top100. Love Song by Sara Berllies could only reach 55. While Flobots' Handlebars could only manage a 45. 7 Things by Miley Cyrus AKA Hannah Montana find herself at 33 despite holding onto no.1 spot on the top20 for 4 weeks. Viva la Vida by Coldplay failed to squeeze into the top20, as they find themselves at 25. Jason Mraz's I'm Yours is the highest charting non-no.1 on the top 100. The 2 American Idols find themselves in the top10 with D.Archuleta's Crush as 9 and D.Cook's rendition of Mariah Carey's Always be My Baby at no. 7.
Heading into top 5 territory, there is Chris Brown's With You, which is actually the best performing song in the year 2008. Kanye West's Stronger is at no.4. And for the third year in a row, Rihnna is denied the top spot, as Take A Bow could only get a no.3 spot. Everyone's-favourite-dance-track Low is at no.2. Which means One Republic and Timbaland's Apologize captures the number one spot, and it is the official 2008 top song in Singapore!
Rihanna and Chris Brown (conincidence?) both share the honour of having the most number of songs appearing in the top 100 by a solo artiste. Both of them have 4 top-100-tracks to their name. Rihanna (Hate That I Love You, Don't Stop The Music, Disturbia, Take A Bow) Chris Brown (No Air, Forever, Kiss Kiss, With You). Jonas Brother claims the honour of having the most number of songs appearing the top 100 by a band. They too had 4 tracks, and they were SOS, This Is Me, Burnin' Up and When You Look Me In The Eyes respectively. Will.I.Am is also one of the two artiste in the 987FM top100 history to have a song that appeared in 2 year end countdown (I Got I From My Mama #52 in 2008 & #42 in 2007). Heh rather surprised I know 90% of the songs. Honestly, I'm not really happy with the Top 5 (although number 1 was good), and some of them really had too low placings like Bleeding Love. Haiya why can't they remove all the stupid rap songs?! Maybe if they did I'd have liked 987fm much much much more. Trash okay, I hate songs with inaudible lyrics!

My relatives came over at around 10pm, fyi I skipped Nyonya for the top 100 countdown. So we went high in the living room, constantly switching between Channel 8 and Channel 5, and I stuffed myself with Ba Guas although it wasn't CNY.
It was the most stone New Year ever cause we were watching Channel Five, then there was some "dong dong dong" bell-ish sounding and chanting thing, and suddenly 10987654321 flashed on the screen so we were like ??!?!?!?!?!??! and finally erupted into laughter.
Hmm I used to change blogskins every year, but I just changed mine not long ago and I really like the one now cause it's simple and sweet. And you know how choosy I can be, taking days to find one that I like.
Oh yes and I feel really happy for CJY!
