She is unpredictable, frequent moodswings. Sometimes she’s nice, and sometimes she’s not.

Her name is Yan Ying. 90% of the world can’t pronounce it properly, simple as it seems. But no one really cares so they just call her YY. She is not fond of people with the same name as her. She turns 14 on 6th September and she loves her birthday cause it is a sex symbol.

She was from Yew Tee Primary and is still proud of her school. She will never forget the class of 6D’07, or the batch of P6’07. She is currently an idiot in Nanyang Girls High and it is a love-hate relationship. She belongs to 202’09 which she, to be honest, doesn’t feel much for.

She is a Theatre Club girl and is more than proud to be one. She especially loves Emo Batch♥, and looks forward to devoting her next 3 years to TCN with much optimism.

She does ballet with more than just passion but she can’t do a center split. She is trying her best and is currently aiming for a far-fetched distinction for Grade6. She loves hiphop just as much though she’s pretty new at it. Her favourite sport is swimming and she occasionally plays basketball as a form of stress-relief. She likes to be tan and loves her swimming tan line. The piano, is yet another love-hate relationship.

Like most teenagers, her hobbies include MSNing, blogging, and youtubing and facebooking. She loves shopping and doing random stuff like gaying people, jumping over railings, walking in the rain, and having completely irregular sleeping hours.

Unlike most teenagers, she thinks that rap music is trash. She also thinks that she is getting old cause she hates the songs the average listens to these days. She can’t explain her love for oldies, country music, ballads, and sentimentals. Nostalgic songs are the best. Her favourite bands are Michael Learns to Rock, The Beatles and Westlife. She loves too many singers to name them all.

“Forevers” are bullshit as of now.

The night speaks to her the way no one else can. Her favourite thing to do is to curl up with a book on a rainy afternoon in her room, where she feels safest in. Her favourite flower is a black rose, but on the contrary, she likes rainbows and hugs too.

She is always torn between two.

But she is determined when she sets her mind on something, so she wants the world to shut up and believe in her. Just watch.

Teachers leaving.

I feel angry.

It's unfair.

Change of teachers next semester. Change of good teachers.
I don't know what the **** is wrong. The good teachers whom I actually pay attention in their classes (and you know how hard it is for me to pay attention) are leaving.

Left those bitches. Sickening "me-myself-and-i" assholes.

I feel so sad. Those are the three teachers that actually bothers to connect to us students and make us adjust to life in Nanyang, and now they are leaving after a semester. Like what the hell is this.

First, Wu Lao Shi our Chinese teacher.

It's not confirmed yet and it's just a maybe. But if she really goes I'll just...
She is a total contrast from the bloody bias chinese "teacher" (inverted commas since I doubt her ability to be one) I had last year.

When Wu Lao Shi first stepped into the classroom, I was like "oh man" when I saw that she is old I had the perception that old teachers are strict and demanding. But guess what. Not only she isn't, she is also very encouraging and helpful.

She does not go, "这么容易的字你也不懂!" like Zeng. Although it was just a remark, it left a really huge impact on me and I felt very demoralized. Because I have known since forever that my Chinese isn't wonderful at all, and to have a teacher say it right smack in your face is like shit.

Occasionally when we are doing worksheets or those newspaper craps and I keep unusually quiet, Wu Lao Shi would walk over to my desk and see how I was doing. Of course I wasn't doing very well and thus she would patiently explain it to me, and not give me that disgusted you-are-stupid look. And she treats us equally well and not pian some cheena people de xin.

I can also remember the day where she gave us chocolate/strawberry egg rolls. There was a period of time where 102 kept writing WE LOVE CHOCOLATE ICE-CREAM!/我们爱巧克力冰淇凌! on the whiteboard and apparently she was the only one who cared and actually bought stuff for us. We were feeling so incredibly touched that day.

I think there was only once where she scolded us quite badly, and I think on that day we were extremely 过分 also. Well, that was the one and only time, because she was one of those rare teachers who scold and pupils actually listen to her. And from then on, we didn't do it again. Play a fool and shout around sif the teacher ain't there. I felt so guilty after that, and with my strong personality, rarely do I feel guilty after a teacher's scolding.

Rahh. I didn't expect myself to type so long.

And it's just a maybe, so we shall all cross our fingers and hope she doesn't leave.

And in turn those bloody bitches do.

Next, Miss Kylie Tan, our history teacher.

People say history lessons are for sleeping, and maybe I can shoot back with, "Not if the teacher clicks."
As I said, she's 19, she is an ex-Nanyang girl, and she connects very well with us because, well, she is 19!

She told us about the times she had in Nanyang when she was a really naughty and had a character somewhat similar to mine. xD
I think it was the previous previous lesson where she showed us how to spin a book and told us about her experience when she was in Sec 1 or 2.

Well it was Chinese lesson and she was like slamming her textbook on the table cause damn sian. And then she tooked it up and started spinning it half-mindedly. And then her teacher got damn pissed and made her stand at the door to spin the book for the entire 1 hour lesson. And then she happily went and stood there and spin. And her teacher somehow kept shifting her gaze to her and got really distracted, so zhi hao ask her go back and sit down. Then she happily continue spinning.

LOL.
By the end of this year I shall master the art of spinning books. xD

...And spin them in Mrs Amy's class, or when I'm going to suicide the next day, Miss Foo's.

Anyway! She is very cool. (:
We I like to talk sick in her class!
Cheryl labels HISTORY lesson as PORNO lesson. (:
Well it is a great big jump, but yeah. xD

We talk about sick things ranging from:
1) What they wear. Ahem.
2) How they deal with strawberry jam on white bread in the past.
3) Erm. This is damn sick. It involves a middle finger, babe.
4) And erm. Something too sick to even talk about. (:

And I will never never forget the day she proclaimed me as Emo Club President and we were all ROFLing.
I don't know how we got to this, but we're always digressing, so it went something like:

"I found out that a vernier caliper is very useful for cutting wrists because there are many more sharp edges than penknifes and it is more, um, intellectual!"
*Class roars*
"Hey hey HEY what's with the cutting of wrists with vernier calipers?"

Me: Miss Tan! I want to be the first female president of Singapore when I grow up!"
Miss Tan: You can't! You didn't even make any great contributions to the world lah!
Cheryl: SHE TAUGHT SINGAPORE HOW TO EMO!

._.
Anyhow say! I am a happy girl worhhxzxzxz. ._.
(Peng freaks out)

Well there are many hilarious quotes in history lesson, but I can't remember any of them at the moment, sorry. ):

Hmm and anyway she says she plays basketball!! My favourite sport hahaha. Hope have chance to play with her during the hols. (:

Sigh. I wish her luck for her University life. (:

And finally, John Tiong, perhaps the most passionate Math teacher I've came across.

(His name is in silver, in courtesy of his silver scooter!)

I can remember the first day he stepped into 102, he was like introducing himself.
"Hi. I am Mr Tiong and I will be taking you for Mathematics. You can also call me John or like some of your seniors do, Tiong Bahru. Oh! And you can also call me Johnny but don't call me that in front of other teachers because I don't want you to get into trouble."

Mr Tiong.
I have so much to say about him I don't know where and how to begin!

Let's just start with, well, today. He gave us a quiz on factorization and said that it would be the last quiz he's giving to us.
Automatically we assume that it's the last quiz of the term and so we continued to fool around. Until someone got sensible and asked, "Mr Tiong, are you leaving us?"

"Yes I won't be taking you for the next semester."

The class somehow went kinda quiet, and then just totally erupted lah. 102 ♥ Mr Tiong. And his scooter.

There are many memorable moments we shared with Mr Tiong, but let's talk about his character first.
I think he's a really very passionate Math teacher and it's really cute the way he can't seem to understand how we don't love Math the way he does. His "exasperation" is seriously laughable. (:

I don't think there is anyone in 102 who actually dislikes him. He is one of the most lenient and fun teachers I've came across, and we absolutely love to "take advantage" and "bully" him, resulting in peels of laughter. It is very funny how he can reply with something sarcastic and keep a straight face!

Actually he keeps a straight face most of the time. And occasionally when we get him to smile I think he looks like a bunny.
And sometimes when he reply us also very funny cause his voice sounds like what. HAVEN'T BREAK YET although he is 27!
And all his "when"s will become "huen"s and "what" will become "huat"s!

And he tells lame jokes! The jokes are so funny they make us laugh like anything. You see, actually his jokes are not funny de. They are just so completely utterly LAME that they become HILARIOUS.

But wait, what's the purpose of him cracking those jokes? I wonder how many of us even bother to think of that.
Even though I might seem to be a happy-go-lucky joker, I am still a very reflective person. (:
Well, to get us into the (a+b) mood.

When I first got my timetable in Term 1, I was like. *Looks at it. Sees Integrated Math. Groans.*
But you know what? Now I don't find it a chore to remember things like (a+b)^2 = a^2 + 2ab + b^2 and (a-b)^2 = a^2 - 2ab + b^2 and (a+b)(a-b) = a^2 - b^2 anymore, because Tiong keeps emphasizing on it while we groan "not again". And yet, interestingly enough, I think that the whole of 102 can already recite it in our sleep.

Mr Tiong always tries to make lessons interesting. It is very distinctive, the effort he shows. Unlike some other teachers who makes lessons "interesting" in the retarded sort of way. I don't like teachers who talk about their personal affairs the whole time, and nor do I like teachers who are hypocritical and seem like they have a motive hiding under that creepy smile that goes off in a flash once the students ain't looking. Neither do I like teachers who have random PMSes and vents their frustrations on us. And the irony - THEY CLAIM THAT THEY CARE ALOT ABOUT US. I have doubts.
I think 102 pretty much knows the whos I am talking about.

Sometimes it is just hard to disappoint Mr Tiong after seeing all the effort he has put in. I feel that Mr Tiong is one of those teachers who sincerely care about us, our welfares and happiness. Who else comes into class and ask, "Are Nanyang girls happy?"
"No!"
"Why?!"

He seems to truly understand the stress we feel, in contrast to some other teacher who simply overload us with homework day after day, homework that we have no idea how to do, homework that leaves us burning midnight oil even without procrastination. Hey, you might be someone who don't down your hair, but we ain't you. Why can't you have more empathy like our Math teacher?

Thanks to Mr Tiong, we feel absolutely no stress in Mathematics, and yet we still can understand very well what we have to learn. I now do Math leisurely, and it has turned into something that I enjoy and not dread! Slackers like me typically curse and swear whenever we pull homework out from their bags, but pulling a Math worksheet out is rather enjoyable.

And there were a few times I even exclaimed to BQ, "I LOVE ALGEBRA!"
Well, probably elementary algebra since we haven't touched on the advanced one yet. I know 102 most likely wishes for Mr Tiong to teach us algebra all the way because he makes things so much easier and clearer for us to understand.
An example. People always say when you first embark on factorization you'll find it super tough, but I didn't. I mean there are definitely questions that I don't know in my worksheet, but Mr Tiong really made an effort to explain it to us clearly, again and again.

And how many teachers extend datelines? Datelines that even someone like me can meet beforehand?

You know, like Shichun said, I hope Mr Tiong tells us that the thing about him leaving is just another belated April Fools' joke.
Belated April Fools' joke. Hmm.

2nd April, because he did not have lessons with us on the 1st. Anyway, he threw us "The Sophisticated Worksheet" as he likes to call it, and says that we have to hand it in the next day.
The worksheet is a really some messy shit. It is really see already will xia dao that kind, so of course all of us went "HAR?!?!" at the exact same time.

And then Tiong just burst out laughing and said "HAPPY BELATED APRIL FOOLS'!"
Then we all got very bu fu qi hahaha. xD

Anyway, it wasn't really "The Sophisticated Worksheet" at first. At first he called it "The Messy and Ugly Worksheet" but then he "OH NO! How can I name it that way?!" and so it changed its name. (:
So this worksheet, pretty memorable yeah.

And as Jiaying said, she had tears in her eyes when Mr Tiong said he was going to leave. I had them in mine too, and I expect that Shichun's the same, Ellen, and many, many others.

It's just half a year, but those were the three teachers whom we bonded so tightly with.

Where to find teachers like those, you tell me.

[This entry is dedicated to the whole of 102 who truly loves and appreciates those teachers, and of course, to them, as well. :D]
