She is unpredictable, frequent moodswings. Sometimes she’s nice, and sometimes she’s not. Her name is Yan Ying. 90% of the world can’t pronounce it properly, simple as it seems. But no one really cares so they just call her YY. She is not fond of people with the same name as her. She turns 14 on 6th September and she loves her birthday cause it is a sex symbol. She was from Yew Tee Primary and is still proud of her school. She will never forget the class of 6D’07, or the batch of P6’07. She is currently an idiot in Nanyang Girls High and it is a love-hate relationship. She belongs to 202’09 which she, to be honest, doesn’t feel much for. She is a Theatre Club girl and is more than proud to be one. She especially loves Emo Batch♥, and looks forward to devoting her next 3 years to TCN with much optimism. She does ballet with more than just passion but she can’t do a center split. She is trying her best and is currently aiming for a far-fetched distinction for Grade6. She loves hiphop just as much though she’s pretty new at it. Her favourite sport is swimming and she occasionally plays basketball as a form of stress-relief. She likes to be tan and loves her swimming tan line. The piano, is yet another love-hate relationship. Like most teenagers, her hobbies include MSNing, blogging, and youtubing and facebooking. She loves shopping and doing random stuff like gaying people, jumping over railings, walking in the rain, and having completely irregular sleeping hours. Unlike most teenagers, she thinks that rap music is trash. She also thinks that she is getting old cause she hates the songs the average listens to these days. She can’t explain her love for oldies, country music, ballads, and sentimentals. Nostalgic songs are the best. Her favourite bands are Michael Learns to Rock, The Beatles and Westlife. She loves too many singers to name them all. “Forevers” are bullshit as of now. The night speaks to her the way no one else can. Her favourite thing to do is to curl up with a book on a rainy afternoon in her room, where she feels safest in. Her favourite flower is a black rose, but on the contrary, she likes rainbows and hugs too. She is always torn between two. But she is determined when she sets her mind on something, so she wants the world to shut up and believe in her. Just watch.Tag

Grade 5 Ballet Exam!
Just changed blog song. This is 珊湖海 by Jay Chou and Lara. No idea why I'm starting to like Jay Chou's songs. (The songs, people. Not the person. -.-) Hmm I decided to change to this song cause I learnt it last week and since then I've heard it many times on the radio, including just now when I returned from my ballet exam. And also because it is very nice. So just give it a go, okay? I feel like doing nothing these days besides sleeping and slacking. I don't know, seem to be needing sleep alot more. I think it's because of the frequent headaches I'm having recently. No I'm being serious here; this isn't just plain emoing. Have done nothing these days but blogging on the comp and checking my mails. Don't know why. I shall blog about my day. I think today went rather well.. First was English lesson where we had to read a book for the first half hour, and the next half was to discuss/argue about the Marigolds book. Argueing is fun. After English was Chinese, which was crap. Crap. I don't. Like Chinese. I really really don't. ): After Chinese was recess where I started to kanchiong and kept practising my ballet steps. While freaking out in front of Omg Wan Li. "OMG I GOT WRONG LEG!" "OMG WRONG ARM!" "SHIT WRONG EXERCISE!" "DAMN IT WHAT'S THE NEXT EXERCISE?!" I think I was gonna have an epileptic fit. After recess was dance. I could actually stay home the whole day - I only went to school because there was dance. It's my favourite subject and I like the teacher. She's so nice. Chinese Dance teacher, btw. Also the only teacher we dared to change in front of. So yeah, got warmed up and everything during dance lesson. I partnered Jia Le (uber flexible pro ballet kia) during the stretching exercises and she stretched me until omgwtf. The higher you climb the harder your fall. After dance lesson, Mdm Chen Lili had to go sign the early leave form for me after I collected it from the General Office person. And then I had to go let the dean sign (Mr Jeffrey Low). I had a nice time acting polite and guai to so many people of course. Then when I left right. w00ts~! I went to pull down my socks damn low and fold one more layer of my skirt. Act pai kia. I desperately wanted some nosey old lady to ask "WHY ARE YOU NOT IN SCHOOL HAH?" Truancy. Nice. I shall try that someday. Nahh just kidding. I won't wreck myself; I'm clear minded. When I got back home, I went to bathe and sat in front of the comp to slack for awhile. Then went for ballet exam. Walao, I felt damn old there. When I walked in to the preparation room I saw so many little girlgirls running about. Including those who are still in the pink leotard. Looks totally sweet and innocent. Then I put my things down and went to change into my navy blue leotard (yay I senior) and tights. And then came back and Miss Wendy tied my hair into a bun. The juniors were so cute, they were all crowding around me and watching Miss Wendy tie my bun hahaha. So amusing. The Grade I took was the highest for the day. Blehh can't spot any Grade 6/7/8 seniors. After tie bun I slacked around while waiting for Geok Teng and Vanessa to get ready. Then we practised everything from top. I think I bonded closer with GT and Vanessa thanks to the Grade 5 exam. And I think GT and I do excellent partnering. It's usually very fluent and smooth when we do partnering exercises together. We had about half an hour to slack after practising. So we did. And I was repeating the order of our exercises - Hey they aren't easy to remember alright, cause they are in FRENCH. I got 90% correct lol, after hearing Miss Wendy repeat them so many times. And then we had to wait outside the examination room. Yeah it was right then that I was uberfreakin nervous. D: But I wasn't when I stepped in (always like that one -.-). I can tell you that this has got to be the most fun ballet exam I've ever taken, because it's also the most challenging and it really puts my bravery and courage to the test. And most of all it's the uberfreakin examiner who kept trying to make casual talks with us. Oh we were surprised alright - other examiners give that stern glare but this one's so friendly. Started with the usual curtsy and "Good afternoon Miss Howel." Then put our character skirts and character shoes at one corner. I think I looked rather confident for all my exercises even though at some parts of time "OH SHIT" and "DAMN IT" were screaming in my head after some major screw-ups. (And I think I failed my favourite character dance. T.T) Started with bar work. Went quite okay, except that my head keep turning wrong way. And my arms weren't exactly nice for a second position. And my last bar exercise was total screwage. I was waywayway ahead of the bloody music. I still tried to look very confident and "nothing happened". After bar work was centre work... My favourite has got to be Piroutte (though it's one of the hardest). It's the.. Spinspinspin on one leg thingum. :D I think the examiner was rather impressed with mine. Pirouttes ftw! (: After sautes (which was the jumpjumpjumpseeyourjumpingstamina one) the examiner was like. "Loosen up! Get your feet our of position and put your hands on your hips.. And I'll give you two minutes to catch your breath alright?" Walao eh I never came across such a nice examiner. Then she kept smiling at us de lor!! :D:D:D Hmm.. Oh yah the I SOLO-ED THE BALANCES (it's french so it's pronounced like. bah long seh.). Cause there were 3 people in my group, and the examiner doesn't want to have all of us together. So she ask who wants to do solo. And then for five seconds nobody answer so I dunno what possessed me and I raised up my hand. T.T And I have no bloody idea where I got that sort of courage from. Fortunately the examiner was pleased with me ahaha. xDDD Kept smiling. xDDD Well I think the song for Balances is my favourite. It's slow and waltzy and dream-like. ^^ Mm.. Then Grand Allegro was one by one.. A super high song.. Mm that after that was my solo dance. Yay. I think I did okay.. Pianist was fast at one point of time so I was stumbling abit to catch up with him. ): But it went okay lah. I mean I really enjoyed it. Got into the mood of the song. It's a really bouncy and cute piece ahaha~. :D Then free movement section. Slack de. Then character. Worst de. The examiner skipped Hop Heel Hop Toe - Went straight to Pivet steps. I like Pivet steps. I like exercises with turns. Next was Hollavet. T.T My most screwed exercise.. Yet I have to do two times.. But I think it was rather well done in the exam. (: Then Stamp and Clap and Gallop. I like this one as well. (: After that character dance. The most screwed thing I did in the exam. Seriously I'm gonna fail that one hahaha. Idc. (: Hmm lastly Reverons aka the byebye dance. Lol wasn't screwed lah, no one screws that. (: After that the examiner tried making casual talk with us like, "Did you go to school this morning?", "What are you going to do tonight?", and told us about the our juniors talking about their favourite animals. And then two of them wanted to be elephants. LOL. Anyway, me GT and Vanessa wear like looking at each other with the o.0 face. LOL. Hmm..After we thanked Miss Howel and Mr Lee (he has been playing the piano for us like since I took my first exam, which was in Primary 2), we got out of the examination room. We were so relieved man. Like super relieved. No more extra-coachings on Tuesday and no more meng practises. *Catches breath* However next Monday we'll be starting on TECHNIQUE exercises. (I hate that most.) Hafta train the splits and stomache exercises and turnouts and everything. ): In conclusion, a ballet exam actually went FINE for the first time in my life. Or maybe it's because I set lower expectations - A merit will do, really. It was completed with a little MAJOR SCREW-UPS and not like the usual ALOT OF minor screw-ups. I owe it to my bravery and courage that I actually held my head high throughout, and even after the screw ups I still managed to keep my smile and confidence. To put it simply, I really enjoyed today's exam alot. (I'm ending my entry with a happy note today! :D) |
